About AssetBases
Bridging Japan's regional investment opportunities with global capital through data transparency.
Our Mission
AssetBases was founded on a simple premise: information asymmetry is the single greatest barrier to cross-border investment. Japan's regional cities hold exceptional investment potential — attractive yields, stable legal frameworks, and undervalued assets — yet remain largely invisible to global investors due to language barriers and fragmented data sources. We aggregate, analyze, and present investment data from Japan's regional markets in a format that global investors actually use: standardized yield metrics, EBITDA-based valuations, and multilingual transparency.
Our Approach
Every listing on AssetBases is processed through a structured financial engine that converts Japanese accounting data into globally recognized investment metrics. We apply Net Yield, Cap Rate, and Seller's Discretionary Earnings (SDE) calculations to every property and business — not estimates, but computed figures derived from public transaction records and verified business financials. For Hakodate, we incorporate region-specific factors including snowfall cost coefficients and proximity to tourism corridors, because local context is inseparable from investment risk.
Data Integrity
All data is sourced from publicly available records including the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) Real Estate Transaction Price database and officially published land valuations. Source URLs are preserved with every data point, enabling investors to trace figures back to their origin.
